It rained and it rained and it rained and I had been at home for too long my insides started to feel uncomfortable and I felt like dull shades like grey and black and brown and I just had to take a walk, leave my house and my room for awhile. I put on my shorts and then I was walking out of my house and down the street with my umbrella. It continued to rain. Slanted rain fell on me cutting a fine tangent against the periphery of the umbrella and it felt good, it was cold, it was from the sky, it was good cold Singaporean rain which made me think of the times I had to ride my motorbike in the rain to get home. There were some cats sitting under cars for shelter and a pair huddled against one another and the traffic from the main road was slow. There were many parked cars along the lane and a man sat in one of them with the glow of his cell phone on his face. When I reached the main road I turned around and walked home and said goodnight to my brother who was cooking a late supper and complaining that the Aubergines were too hard and tough to chew on. Tippy toes I crept past my mom’s room, she was watching telly sitting not more than two meters away from the telly and that couldn’t do any good for her eyesight.
